Brake System Maintenance

The brake system is one of the most important safety mechanisms in your vehicle. It is necessary to have it inspected regularly to ensure proper performance.

Here are some common signs that your brake system needs servicing:

  • Brakes feel spongy or hard to press down.
  • Squealing or grinding noises are audible when pressing on the brake pedal.
  • Your car pulls to one side.
  • Your steering wheel or brake pedal shakes when applying the brake.
  • Your Anti‐Lock Brake System (ABS) warning lights come on.

Brake issues can start out small but worsen over time. Waiting to have them repaired can greatly increase the costs involved.

Discs should be inspected for rough spots or warping and should be resurfaced or replaced immediately if signs of damage are evident.

Your vehicle has rubber and metal brake lines and both can crack and leak. Our technicians will first examine the rubber hoses to ensure they are soft and they will then check the hard metal brake lines for corrosion and leaking. If either is damaged, replacement will be recommended.
