Building on AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, the standard trailer sway control selectively brakes and adjusts engine power to maintain trailer control. When properly equipped, the Explorer can tow up to 5,600 lbs.

The available Intelligent 4WD optimizes powertrain and braking systems, allowing the vehicle to deliver the right amount of traction to tackle even the most challenging driving conditions.
Terrain Management System
With the Terrain Management System, you can easily shift on the fly into one of its seven selectable drive modes to match the terrain you are driving on. These settings include: Normal, Trail, Deep Snow/Sand, Slippery, Sport, Tow/Haul, and Eco. Plus, Hill Descent Control helps control braking and speed on steep grades.
